FILLER LORE THAT I DON'T WANNA SUBMIT AN APP FOR BUT I MIGHT. SOMEDAY. IDK Humens are the most prolific race of the world of Grimoria. While not as magical as elves or as hardy as dwarves, they are consistent, well-organised, fertile, and crafty, enough to have spread out all over Grimoria and establish a variety of settlements and nation-states. They have a variety of cultures and practices, as widespread as their own expansion over the known world.

Ethnicities

Grenzelians

A widespread type of humen, Grezenlians are the natives to the Grenzelhoft Imperiate. They typically have light or ruddy skin, and their hair is most commonly shades of brown, light brown, and blond, with brown, blue, or green eyes. They are stereotyped as domineering, prideful in their country of origin, and condescendingly paternalistic to other nations.

Vanor

The people of Vanor describes a wide variety of cultural practices and languages native to the far north of Grimoria. Most often seen in Grenzelhoft are the Jotun (yo-tun), a large tribe of Vanori who are nominally allied with the Imperiate. Jotun tribe people are usually very tall, blonde, pale, and light-eyed. While many Jotun have claimed to convert to the worship of Astrata, in practice what has been found by inquisitors is that they have syncretised their Astrata-worship with the paganism typical to Vanori. This is to the distaste of many missionaries, but the Jotun warriors are simply too useful to the Imperiate's goal of conquest that a blind eye is often turned.

The Jotun tribe often comes into conflict with the Soku, another tribe of Vanori whose territory neighbours Jotun territory. The Soku, a slightly shorter, darker-haired and darker-skinned tribe, live in close proximity to the lythiquessi-- the snow elves.

Apart from nominal differences in faith and practices, many Vanori have similar cultures of ancestor and spirit worship, polytheism, focus on family units and bloodlines, and a strong martial or hunting culture. To many beyond their territories, they are seen as savage and "earthly", with this being adapted as a negative or positive stereotype depending on the individual.

Zybantans

Zybantans are the primary ethnicity native to Zybantu. Their skin tones range from olive to deep brown, and they have black or brown hair. Their eyes are mostly dark brown, but hazel or green-eyed Zybantans exist. Outside of the Ziggurats, Zybantans are stereotyped as arrogant and conniving, though within the Ziggurats other stereotypes about them abound.

Razmali

The Razmali are an ethnic group residing in the north of Zybantu, and have historically been conflated with Zybantans by Grenzelhoftian interlopers. They are paler than ethnic Zybantans, with their skintones ranging from olive to light brown. They have eyes of brown and green, with blue making rare appearances. Zybantans see them as unscrupulous pagans with a tendency towards thievery.

Valorian

There is no singular ethnic group that makes up the Valorian Rupublias due to them being a collection of nations. The collective nations, however, have their own major demographics.

Catalians

Catalians are the people of the kingdom of Catalis, which sits to the very west of Valoria by the sea. Their skin tones are usually pale to tan, and their hair colours are blonde to dark brown. Other nations (especially the Imperiate) stereotype them as coin-obsessed, promiscuous, and duplicitous.

Chesseron

Chesse is a small island nation that rests on the border of Grenzelhoft and Valoria. While its inhabitants are nominally part of the Valorian Rupublias, many have begun to defect to the Imperiate, causing a rift between the north and south of the isle. Chesserons are usually light-skinned and have brown to blonde hair. In Valoria, they are often stereotyped as obsessed with honour and chivalry and having absolutely dreadful cuisine.

Shin

A people from far beyond the intrigue of the Ziggurants, Imperiate, or Rupublias, the mountainous kingdom of Shin is a nation where magic and those who can use it are highly-prized and cloistered from the world. The Shin are usually pale to tan in skintone, and their hair and eyes are dark.
