Assassin

From StoneKeep Wiki

I've blended in well up until this point, but it's time for the Hunted of Graggar to perish. I must get my dagger from where I hid it.

You are an Assassin, devoted to the demon lord of murder, Graggar. From a young age you have been drawn to blood and violence, and now you have found a suitable profession. Your goal is straightforward: eliminate every single target on your hitlist and capture their soul with your cursed dagger.

Starting Out

You can either ready up as a Pilgrim, or join after the start of the round as a Pilgrim. Once you've spawned in, you have to select Assassin from the list of Pilgrim subclasses. Afterwards, you will be able to select a disguise from a few options: Bard, Beggar, Fisher, Hunter, Miner, Noble, Peasant, and Woodcutter. Each disguise receives items and skills related to the profession they mimic.

Assassin's Tools

Every assassin starts with the following tucked into their belt:

  • A Profane Dagger. A profane dagger made of cursed black steel. Whispers emanate from the gem on its hilt. Use it on your targets to capture their souls.
  • A Lockpick. A small, sharp piece of metal to aid opening locks in the absence of a key. Use it to get to your targets.
  • A Bottle of Poison. A regular glass bottle containing 5u of poison. Use it as an alternative way to eliminate your targets.

Strategy

Trust no one. No one likes murderers, especially not murderers with whispering daggers. Lie and bribe your way out of trouble, eliminate every trace of your crimes, and blend into the crowd.

Tips and Tricks

  • Hide in your target's bedroom and wait for them to fall asleep.
  • Extinguish candles and torches around you to vanish into the shadows.
  • Follow your target discreetly to establish their daily schedule.
  • Travel on the rooftops, guards rarely include them in their patrols.
  • Seduce or befriend your target to gain their trust.

Roleplay

Take into account that your targets have the right to enjoy their time as well. Don't pounce as soon as you meet them without even saying a word. A part of the fun of playing as an Assassin is to scheme and plan how to take down your target. Taking the time to leave eerie notes on the crime scene, or arranging the body in a certain way contribute to create new roleplay opportunities.

Overall, make sure to roleplay with your target; losing is part of the fun in Space Station 13, but you should preserve the atmosphere of the setting when you kill someone.
