Bandit

From StoneKeep Wiki

You like to think of yourself as a swashbuckler, a freedom fighter, a liberator and redistributor of gold. Some call you a rogue, a villain, and the scum of creation; but what do they know?

You are a Bandit, an unscrupulous criminal who stalks the wilds of Enigma to accost goodly folk and steal their valuables. From robbing the Keep to waylaying travellers, your goal is to steal as much as possible and offer it up to your thief-god, Matthios.

Starting Out

You can either ready up as a Bandit, or join as a bandit after round-start by joining as an Adventurer. Once you've spawned in, you can select between three bandit classes: Deserter, Poacher, and Brigand. Each has its own specialties, which will be covered later. You're also able to tell who your fellow bandits are by examining them.

Boons of Matthios

Your objective is to steal 100 mammon's worth of stuff and feed it to the idol of Matthios in your bandit camp. In exchange, Matthios will bestow equipment and a triumph upon you per 100 mammon's worth of stuff you steal.

  • 1 triumph: Health potion
  • 2 triumphs: Iron chainmail
    • If you have medium armor training: Scale mail
  • 4 triumphs: Horned helmet
  • 6 triumphs: A weapon befitting your skills, depending on if the below skills are raised above "average":
    • Polearm skill: Billhook spear
    • Bow skill: Longbow
    • Sword skill: Longsword
    • Any other skill: Steel mace
  • 8 triumphs: Chainmail leggings

Roleplay

Dos

  • Do be a devotee of the god of thievery and ill-gotten gains.
  • Do smooth-talk, threaten, or mug someone for their coin purse in a dark forest or back alley.
  • Do kidnap nobles and hold them for ransom.
  • Do stage elaborate heists to steal the contents of the vault.

Don'ts

  • Don't wordlessly rush in and murder everyone. This will lower your player quality at best and get you banned at worst.
  • Don't immediately rush locations of valuables at roundstart.

Overall:

  • Roleplay with people when possible.
  • Value your own life and try to avoid pain.
  • Preserve the immersion of the setting.
