King | 1 | Local leader, a monarch anointed by the Church, the king is de-facto the ruler of Stonekeep, commanding the guards and lording over the peasantry. | Make decrees, you have the right to create new laws for people to follow, so do it! Sit on your throne and ask it for help if you are confused. Hold court and listen to your council, assuming they aren't once again trying to depose you. | Male + PQ: Good |
Queen | 1 | Publically, a beloved figurehead of the state. Privately? A cunning woman who has slipped into a position of power. She married the king with her guile, and intends to do as much as she can to solidify her family's dominion. | Manage the servants in the keep. Take a guard when you leave. Punish all who insult you and take what is rightfully yours, you are the Queen after all! | Female |
Prince/Princess | 2 | The young nobility in line for the throne. Pampered and spoiled by their father's servants and an easy upbringing. | Learn the ropes of leadership and don't make the mistakes of your father/mother. Or take a guard on a tour, and go boss around some peasants with your father's authority! Life's good when you're young and free. | Young Adult |
Hand | 1 | A trusted advisor of the king who holds the most valued position in his court. The hand was called to office by the King himself, and acts with his authority! | Ask your king for their plans for the week, and ensure they're being fulfilled! If they haven't made any plans, advise them with duties. Be shrewd in situations of realm stability. After all, if king dies, you'll lose your easy job under him!
Steward | 1 | An essential servant to any king, the Steward manages finances and keys for his realm. An elf or elder humen often fulfills the role of Steward, due to their natural intelligence and the complexity of the role. | Ensure the guard is paid, the smiths have metal and the coin flows. Advise the king to set taxes, and make sure the Merchant's guild are paying theirs!
Court Mage | 1 | The mightiest mage from here to Grenzelhoft! Or so they say... | The king nourishes you with spice to snort and a beautiful tower to snort it in, you've made it to any wizard's dream life! In exchange for these luxuries, you spy on his subjects and perform magic tricks for him. In recent yils, your foolish young apprentice fell out the tower, so consider hiring a pilgrim to replace them!
Court Physicker | 1 | A man of Pestra and medicine. Or one who's interest in the races goes deeper than the skin. | Your duties are to heal the sick and wounded through your expertise of skin and bone, others will come and try to take your spot, let them assist or throw them out as fake practitioners of your art. Find new ways to use your medicine for good or evil and expand upon your base of knowledge to one day rid the world of the worst disease ever.... Death. |

He has served the king for his whole life, and is willing to die to protect him and his family. | Deliver orders to the guards. Ensure the guards are doing as the king commands. Obey all orders the king delivers, you have served him your whole life, and with good service you'll become a landed noble any dae now!
Veteran | 1 | The oldest man serving in the garrison, the Veteran would have retired yils ago if not for his love of law and order. A man of such experience is often either the previous captain, or a legendary swordsman recruited from a foreign court. | All these men are whelps! You'll make sure the Captain drills the garrison to YOUR standard, the king kept you employed for your expertise! You'll make sure they know who's the master, even if your body is lacking with age... | PQ: Good |
Garrison Guard | 4 | A guard who has served for years, fulfilling their lord's demands faithfully. You've slain bandits and beasts, but know your captain will execute you should you disobey the lord's orders. | Don't question the captain's demands, or disobey the nobility. Those are things you see guards do before they go onto the chopping block. You're the first and only line of defence for Stonekeep, try not to die. (Tip: Bored as a guard? Go find the king's family, and escort them. If they have any orders, intimidate whoever they are ordering into compliance. The king's word is the law, and you are his muscle!)
Garrison Archer | 2 | A marksman serving the local lord, equipped with bow and arrow. Such talented bowmen often find banditry easier than honest work, and so the king has had a limited supply of archers in recent yils... | The Royal Archery tourney ended, and you were recruited for your talent. Archers are a dying breed, but you'll show them your usefulness this week! (Tip: Use 'ARC' on a bow to shoot arrows *above* allies and avoid friendly fire!)
Dungeoneer | 1 | Executioner and Torturer to the king, a disdained occupation that calls for anonmity. The Dungeoneer hides their face whenever in public, so none can know their shame. | 'Entertain' the prisoner with whatever creative torture comes to mind, such as performing Elvish slam-poetry. Perform executions whenever called to it, for only a condemned soul like yourself can slay someone after they have spoken their last words before The Ten. But you will do it with glee, because the peasants love a good show!
